Launching its first non-fungible token is one of the most anticipated projects for one of the most popular soccer clubs in the world. The following are the preliminary particulars on the upcoming launch.

Manchester United MANU, one of the most successful football clubs in the world, has announced the creation of a non-fungible token, making it one of a growing number of sports teams and leagues to enter the Web3 area with digital collectibles.

The first NFTs produced by the team will be given away as gifts to fans, and those items will later be put up for sale. The club made the announcement that twenty percent of the total profits from the second collection will be given to the Manchester United Foundation.

During the course of the season, additional NFTs are going to be both gifted and sold throughout the season. The price of each subsequent NFT will be set at £30, which is equivalent to roughly $35.

Additionally, Manchester United will be releasing a virtual world via the official Discord. “Members of this global community will be able to connect with clubs, players, legends and thousands of other like-minded fans,” the team said.

The team said that the launch of NFT is the next step in creating a Web3-based fan experience. Manchester United said that the first NFT would be an “iconic piece of United history”.

“Like old football traditions, such as collecting match events, club badges and sticker books, fans will soon have the additional option of collecting this new type of digital memorabilia,” said Manchester United CEO of Digital Products & Experiences. Phil Lyncho Told.

“Football means so much to so many people and Manchester United, not to mention their fans, are the titans in the game,” Edwards said. “It is an honor to be part of the club’s first step in Web3 through the creation of digital collectibles that the club and its followers will cherish for years to come.”
