Manchester City Will Release NFT Collectibles

Posted on the 22 May 2022 by Nftnewspro

The arrangement between Manchester City and NFT marketplace Quidd allows the club to release four digital collectibles.

As a consequence of the collaboration, football and NFT fans now have access to unique card sets in addition to their 3D player cards. To conclude the Quidd season, an extremely uncommon set of Signature cards will be used.

On the Wax Blockchain, one of the most popular NFT marketplaces is Quidd. Quidd, a subsidiary of Animoca, has previously teamed with major companies such as HBO and Disney.

Many football teams have adopted NFT

Several elite European teams have used crypto and BFT. Barcelona, the Spanish and European football powerhouse, has announced plans to create its own cryptocurrency as part of a future NFT and Metaverse venture. Last year, FC Porto of Portugal collaborated with Binance, a prominent cryptocurrency exchange, to create a fan token.

In the last week, the value of the Manchester City Fan token has climbed by 36.37 percent. It is unclear, however, if the rise is a result of the NFT collection distribution.

Quidd’s Vice President of Content, Sam Barberie, said, “The opportunity to cooperate with City prompted us to create something wholly unique straight immediately.”

He continued by saying that the club’s history motivated him to design something special for collectors and fans. As a consequence of the NFT collectibles, which will unite them as a family, fans will experience a sense of belonging. According to Barberie, it will be more interactive to portray what it means to be a City fan.

Over 8 Million Collectibles Are Added to the Quidd Marketplace
There are now over 325 separate collector brands and eight million NFT collectibles available on the Quidd marketplace. This will be the first time that a Premier League club has utilized Quidd to market NFTs.

NFT offers teams the opportunity to explore new ways to communicate with their fans and supporters. Quidd aims to develop other partnerships with additional clubs in order to bring football fans closer to the Metaverse and NFT.
