An individual who was arrested for stealing two televisions from Temple Trees, was ordered to be remanded till August 10 by Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage yesterday. Colombo Crime Division told the court that the suspect will be produced before court in terms of section 2(3) of the Public Property Act.
An attorney appearing on behalf of the suspect informed the Magistrate that his client was working in a office around the Temple Tree and he was on leave when the incident took place on July 9.
The Counsel pleaded his client be released on bail. Another suspect who has been arrested on stealing an electric iron from President’s House was remanded till August 5 by Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage yesterday.
