A man who was arrested for stealing an imitation necklace and pendant from a woman who was walking on the road, was ordered to be released on bail by Colombo Additional Magistrate T. Ilangasinghe.
Wellampitiya Police arrested a couple in connection with the incident. However, the woman was remanded till January 5 while the man was released on a surety of Rs.500,000 each.
The woman stated that she had stolen the necklace and admitted to being guilty and said the husband did not commit this crime. Police informed the Court that the suspect woman was addicted to ICE.
