Colombo Fraud Investigation Bureau officials have arrested a person yesterday (24) who had defrauded a businessman residing in Wattala Mabole of Rs. 2.3 million promising that US dollars, will be provided to bring a container of air conditioner parts from China to Sri Lanka.
The Colombo Fraud Investigation Bureau stated that the suspect is a resident of Wattala,Mabole. He was remanded till December 6 after being produced before Court.
The complainant is an importer of electronic goods including air conditioners from China. Police said that this fraud was committed by stating that he was sending an amount of dollars to China which was not enough to bring a container full of air conditioner parts that he been ordered to Sri Lanka.
