Man is Stuck on an Isolated Island While Walking the Entire Coastline of the UK

Christian Lewis spent many years in the Army but struggled to adapt back to civilian life. He has been raising money for SSAFA by walking the entire perimeter of the UK since August of 2017. He started with no money at all, and is relying solely on the good will of people he meets along the way.

While walking on mainland Shetland, the UK government announced the lockdown, so Chris has spent his time on a 108 acre island off the coast of the Shetlands and is waiting out the virus there in a Shepard’s hut.

If you are thinking about doing your own (maybe not as long), coastal adventure in the UK, a great place to start is the South West Coast Path and the many short treks like it.
