A close associate of Shirantha Gayan, alias “Gayya”, the son of “Soththi Upali”, has been arrested
in Borella by the Police Special Task Force while in possession of a foreign-manufactured pistol. The suspect (28) was to be produced before the Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court.
His weapon and the mobile phone have been taken to the Police custody.The STF searched the individual, who was acting suspiciously, on a tip off received.
Gayan is in the Welikada remand prison.
