Sapugaskanda Police on Sunday arrested a man who allegedly raped his Mother-In-Law while his wife went to see a musical show at night.
The Suspect had been staying with his wife in a rented house in the Mabima area and the wife’s father and mother, who are residing in the Galnewa area had come to this house the day before and while the mother was there, the father had gone back to the village. When the Mother-In-Law and Son-In-Law were at home, the wife gone to watch a musical show and it is said that the Son-In-Law who was in the house raped the Mother-In-Law. The twenty-eight-year-old suspect was immediately arrested after the incident.
The 54-year-old mother-in-law who was molested is to be admitted to Ragama General Hospital for a medical examination and the arrested suspect is to be presented to the Mahara Magistrate Courts.
