Mama Cocoa’s Delights owner Tamarra Thomas was not only featured on the Food Network show Sweet Genius, SHE WON SHE WON SHE WOOOON $10,000.00!!!! I’m a little late to the story. The show aired January 24th, I believe, and the Washington Post covered it; NBC4 did a story prior to the airing. Tamarra Thomas came to her love of homemade confection and candy making after being laid off her job. What a great story. Check out the Bowie crowd that gathered at T.J. Elliot’s to cheer Thomas on to her win. It’s a good look for the county. Mama Cocoa’s Delights is located in the basement of an Antiques store in Old Town Bowie, 13015 9th Street, Bowie 20720. Thomas described the Food Network experience as “…exhilarating, it was fun, it was way harder than it looks on TV.” Read the Washington Post article to hear how her friend talked her into sending an audition tape.
