The New Year started with a healthy beginning, as we bloggers got the opportunity to be part of the Palm Oil Gourmet Delights Event organized by the Malaysian Palm Oil Council.
The event was filled with an exciting food hunt and an informative brief on Palm oil which was held at Ardor 2.1 Connaught Place.
The event started off by Dr. Bhavna Shah, country representative of MPOC India/Srilanka, who gave us insights about the benefits of Palm oil.
She cleared many myths related to it and guided us with correct information. For several decades, saturated fats have been targeted as a risk factor for the ever-increasing incidence and mortality from Coronary Heart Disease.
However current evidence based on large population cohorts and subsequent meta-analysis of the data has created a much needed new opinion that swings the evidence away from saturated fat consumption.
