Make Your Own Apple Centrepieces

Make your own apple centrepieces

Not all centrepieces are made up strictly of flowers. While flowers are the most popular option, of course, it's important to also consider other décor like fruit. Apples make excellent centrepieces due to their colour and size. Not to mention the fact that they are so easy to make!

When making an apple centrepiece, it's important to remember that you need to select apples that are not too damaged. If they are not in good shape, they will not create the best possible display and damaged or cut apples will become discoloured too. When making the centrepieces, all you will need is a selection of beautiful, fresh apples and large, cylindrical vases. Place the apples into the vases and display! It's as simple as that.

If you like, you can take it a step further and add a small tray inside the top of the vase. Place floral foam in the tray and create a flower arrangement to place on top of your apple display. Of course, it's best to create the flower display on its own and then place it on top of the cylindrical vase of apples.

If you are wondering what kinds of flowers and foliage to use for the arrangement on top of your cylinder of apples, there are several lovely options. It will depend on the colour of the apples you choose as well as the season and theme you wish to create. Since apples have a smooth texture, it's worth noting that more textured flowers are perfect for creating contrast. Consider blooms like carnations, peonies, chrysanthemums, and so on. As for the foliage, you will need at least one type of foliage that will drape down towards the table. This is because you need to conceal the plastic tray holding the floral foam. You do not, however, want the leaves to cover all the apples. So, make sure that they are adequate length and you can even have some longer and some shorter stems.

Remember to always get creative! While some might say that there are certain rules when it comes to arranging flowers, others know better. Some of the greatest displays we know today have come as the direct result of ignoring those so-called rules!
