Playful, French, chic.

The Trip
Well it took me an hour to get there, basically. It's on E. Rod apparently, and I initially thought that going there by taking the train and alighting at Gilmore would be a good idea. Apparently, it's easier to get a jeepney ride somewhere in Cubao (or something). In any case, it's best to visit Hemady Square (where Make Me Blush is) via a car.
Once inside, I checked out the salon's beauty services, and I was surprised to find a lot of offerings available--aside from the usual manicure, pedicure, foot spa and the like, Make Me Blush also offers massage and hair styling services. I was interested in trying out several, but I just chose to have a simple mani-pedi, and it's mostly because I feel like my toes already badly need a new paint job. Staff recommended that I try one of their Hand and Foot Spa Packages, and the one composed of a manicure, pedicure and 30 minute foot reflex caught my eye. So I asked for what they lovingly call "I'll See You in My Dreams", which was worth Php520.
Dirty toes are dirty. No shame.
A lot of nail colors available!
I'll admit the foot reflex didn't feel like it lasted for 30 minutes. But I enjoyed the exquisite attention the nail technicians paid me and my hands and feet. I was also offered a drink while my ears were exposed to some soothing music.
Cute and colorful

The Verdict
What I don't like about Make Me Blush:
- The reading material available did not appeal to me much, mostly because they seemed to be composed of religious propaganda of some sort.
- Hair stylist is only available by appointment.
What I love best about my mani-pedi experience at Make Me Blush:
- The entire place, coupled with the technicians' languid yet deft movements, was so relaxing that I almost fell asleep -- pretty rare considering I'm an insomniac, but then again, work has been so draining since January.
- The nail polish was so nicely applied that it stayed perfect and pretty until about five days later! And this is quite telling, since most paint jobs I've had are usually destroyed about 4 hours later due to my clumsiness (or lack of femininity?)
- A++++, will come back again, despite the fact that the place is pretty far from where I live. Hopefully, the people behind this hip, retro-vintage chic salon will choose to snag a place somewhere more accessible, like Trinoma or perhaps Gateway.
