Make a Flay Lay 2016 Sign for NYE

By Francoisetmoi

Good Morning! Hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday (whatever you celebrate!). It’s amazing how instantaneously the whirlwind of Christmas halts and how quickly we move right along to New Years!

Having people over for New Years is always a blast, but because it falls immediately after Christmas, I think its in everybody’s best interest to just keep it simple. So I have a sneaky little DIY that will take 5 minutes and make your table spread instantly Instagrammable. And who doesn’t love that?

To let you in on a little secret, this 2016 “sign” is actually composed of house address numbers. And where are they from?  Home Depot, you guys. (Or if you don’t want to get out of your PJ’s, buy them on Amazon Prime here.) Yep, they just need a coat of spray paint and they’re ready to party. Add champagne, macarons, some tunes, and boom,  so are you!

So here’s what the numbers look like straight out of the package. If silver is your jam, you can totally use the numbers as is. However, since I’m borderline obsessed with brass, I spray painted mine with gold spray paint.

Often, I need to rough up the metal surface before spray painting in order for the paint to stick, but these guys took the paint like champs! So here’s the quick run down:  1 coat of spray paint, let them dry and lay them out on your tablescape. Really now, could it get ANY easier?
