5 – 9 September 2014
This year;s theme is ‘Sharing’
The Observatoire de MAISON&OBJET has clicked on the “share” icon and is reflecting the latest influences in design and decoration. With the running theme “Sharing”, it explores the dynamics of “creative sharing” and foresees a benevolent future. Immerse yourself in the new Inspirations Trend Book and discover its perspectives in Hall 7, in the spaces designed by Vincent Grégoire for Nelly Rodi, François Bernard and Elizabeth Leriche.
Our era is clicking on the “Share” icon. Generation G for Generosity is bashing cynicism and liking “We”. New uses and values are reconfiguring ways of living together, exchanging information, goods, services and experiences. In the digital age, networking information is producing new tools with emerging practices in an economy of collaboration and cooperation. We are seeing a dynamic of creative sharing which is programming the future of a caring world.
Designer of the year is Tom Dixon
Tom Dixon, MAISON & OBJET’s 2014 Designer of the year, blows a whiff of London air into Paris. He creates an ephemeral workshop in partnership with the high echnology company Trumpf. This “instantaneous factory”
produces, in real time, a collection of diffusers and candles with a London fragrance. The packaging, products and boutique are like the event: unique.
