Mahesh Babu & Venkatesh’s SVSC Nizam Final Report & Verdict

Victory Venkatesh and Superstar Mahesh Babu came together in Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu in what could be called as first proper multistarrer in Telugu cinema after more than two decades. It resulted in tremendous hype for the film which resulted in very good SG’s, MG’s and hires for the film in many territories. Also the film had good distribution deals too across the board barring Uttar Andhra.

But the film didn’t live up to the hype in an overall sense and this is where the SG’s, MG’s, hires and distribution deals helped the film perform superbly during the Sankranthi holidays. Had the film received good word of mouth overall, given the hype it had, this was the film that had good chances of reaching an Industry Hit number. SVSC is thus an opportunity lost we must say, in the end. Simply put it hasn’t performed up to the expectations it had pre release.

Nizam was an own release by the producer who is also the distributor for the film. The film opened on a low note but picked up considerably during the holidays week. It put up a very solid number for week 1 and maintained the flow for another weekend. Post the second weekend the film dropped and after third weekend it collapsed considerably. The overall number is very good, a super hit business for sure but much was expected from the film initially.
