MUMBAI: In view of the surge in Covid-19 cases, chief minister Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday announced new guidelines for the state. The new norms will be implemented from 8pm on Monday. Also, a complete lockdown will be imposed on weekends.
MUMBAI: In view of the surge in Covid-19 cases, chief minister Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday announced new guidelines for the state. The new norms will be implemented from 8pm on Monday. Also, a complete lockdown will be imposed on weekends.
The following are the fresh restrictions issued by the state government:
Curbs
*Complete lockdown on weekends-- 8pm Friday to 7am Monday -- only essential services allowed.
*Night curfew (from 8pm to 7am) throughout the week, can step out only for emergency/essential work.
*During the day, gathering of 5 or more persons not allowed (Section 144 of Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC)).
What's shut
*Shrines, shops, malls & markets, theatres, bars, restaurants, gyms, salons, spas, video parlours, clubs, swimming pools, water parks, sports complexes.
*Private offices have to work from home; schools, colleges & tuition classes to be shut.
What's allowed
*Government offices at 50% capacity, industrial units.
*All banks, stock markets, power firms, telecom, insurance/mediclaim, pharma offices & disaster management (if needed.
*Autos (driver+2), taxi (driver + 50% capacity) and buses (no standees).
*Takeaway service at hotels, restaurants & roadside stalls
*Restaurants and bars inside hotels only for in-house guests.
*Newspaper production, distribution as part of essential services
*Vegetable markets can operate with social distancing.
*Schools & colleges for conducting Class X and Class XII exams.
*Film & serial shootings, with Covid norms, RT-PCR tests, from April 10.
