Maharashtra News: Political stirring in Maharashtra is increasing rapidly. Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray spoke to PM Modi over the telephone and requested him to intervene on the issue of being nominated to the Legislative Council.
Currently Uddhav Thackeray is not a member of any House of the Legislature. Uddhav took over as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra on November 28 last year. To remain in this position, it is mandatory for them to become members of the Legislative Council within a month.
According to sources, Uddhav told PM Modi over phone that efforts are being made to create political instability in the state. On Wednesday, Uddhav briefed PM Modi about the political crisis in Maharashtra and said that the Corona crisis in the state is at its peak.
Meanwhile, efforts are being made to create political instability. He requested the PM to intervene on this issue. The reports quoted sources as saying that PM Modi has assured that he will look into the matter.
During the conversation, Uddhav also spoke about the decision of the state cabinet to nominate him to the Legislative Council. Significantly, Uddhav has spoken to PM Modi at a time when the leaders of Mahavikas Aghadi met Governor BS Koshyari and apprised him of the latest cabinet decision.
In this decision of the cabinet, the Governor has been requested to nominate Uddhav Thackeray as a member of the Legislative Council from Governor Kota. Earlier on 9 April, the cabinet passed such a proposal.
