Magic Mike 2 Sequel, Magic Mike: XXL Begins Shooting This Fall

Posted on the 31 March 2014 by Tbfansource @tbfansource

Joe Manganiello (Alcide Herveaux) never thought he’d find himself in a franchise situation with Magic Mike. While speaking to Collider about his new movie Sabotage recently, the actor revealed that a sequel to the film starts shooting this fall.

On the heels of this revelation, The Playlist has now reported that the sequel will be entitled Magic Mike: XXL and be directed by long time Soderbergh A.D. Gregory Jacobs from a screenplay once again written by Channing Tatum along with co-writer Reid Carolin.

For Manganiello, who also produced his own real life documentary about male stripping entitled La Bare, he can’t wait to start shooting again:

“Yeah, it’s gonna happen this fall.  I think they’re going to announce it soon.  It’s crazy.  I didn’t think that would be my first franchise.  I never thought that would ever be the direction of my career.  But that said, it’s just proof that I don’t know best, all the time.  It was the most fun I’ve ever had, and I can’t wait to get back in and mix it up with those guys.”

Most of the original cast is expected to return but no official announcements have been made as of yet.
