Madonna’s recent Celebration Tour has resulted in legal challenges following a complaint filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on May 29th. Justen Lipeles, an attendee of Madonna’s March 7 concert at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, alleged various grievances, including claims of unwanted sexual exposure during the event.
Lipeles’ lawsuit accuses Madonna of negligent misrepresentation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, false advertising, and breach of contract. He asserts that the concert featured acts resembling pornography without warning, with topless women engaging in sexual gestures, creating discomfort in the already sweltering venue. Lipeles criticized Madonna for disrespecting her fans, noting delays in the concert start time and adverse effects from the heat.
According to Lipeles, Madonna allegedly requested to turn off the air conditioning, exacerbating the uncomfortable conditions. Moreover, he claims Madonna lip-synced her songs despite advertising a live performance, deceiving paying attendees.
In his lawsuit, Lipeles seeks refunds for ticket costs and Madonna’s profits, highlighting what he perceives as Madonna’s disregard for her audience. He emphasized the tardiness of the 65-year-old singer, who began the concert more than an hour and a half later than scheduled.
This legal action is not an isolated incident for Madonna. Similar lawsuits have been filed against her previously, accusing her of unfair trade practices. In response, Madonna’s team attributed the delays to technical issues and expressed readiness to defend against the allegations.
This legal challenge follows a pattern, with Madonna facing previous legal disputes after her 2019 Florida concert, where similar issues were raised by an attendee named Nate Hollander.
