Madhya Pradesh: Shivraj Proved Majority, Speaker Prajapati Resigned

Madhya Pradesh News: CM of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chauhan proved majority in the assembly today. During this time not a single Congress MLA was present in the House. Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party and Independent MLAs supported the motion of confidence.

The assembly session will last till March 27. There will be a total of three sittings of the House in this four-day session. On the first day of the session a motion of confidence will also be brought against the government. At the same time, Vote on Account for the year 2020-21 will also be presented.

It is believed that Shivraj Singh Chauhan will easily get the majority figure in the house. However, they also face many challenges in the future. In which the by-election is to be held in 24 assembly seats of the state within the next six months. It is necessary for Shivraj to win nine of these seats to retain his power.

By-elections will be held in 24 seats

There are a total of 230 assembly seats in Madhya Pradesh. Two of these seats were already vacant due to the demise of MLAs.

Later the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly terminated the membership of 22 other pro-Scindia MLAs. After which now 24 seats in the state are vacant. By-elections in these seats are to be held within the next six months.

Assembly Speaker resigns

On the other hand, shortly after Chauhan took charge, Assembly Speaker Narmada Prasad Prajapati resigned. Please tell that Shivraj Singh Chauhan came into action mode as soon as he took charge as the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh.

He first held an emergency meeting with senior state officials and senior officials from the center at Vallabh Bhawan in view of Corona virus (COVID19) and gave directions to the officials to take necessary steps to deal with it.

According to the information, Chief Minister Chauhan reached the ministry after taking oath and also offered prayers.
