Madeira Cake is an easy recipe and a great one for beginners to start off with.
So here’s what you need: sugar, flour, butter, vanilla extract, baking powder, milk and eggs.
220grams of sugar
2 eggs
120grams of butter
2 teaspoons vanilla extract (I like to use the powdered vanilla rather than the liquid- for some reason it tastes better)
200grams of flour
1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
120ml milk- you can use low fat or skimmed but you will get a creamier, richer flavor if you use full cream.
Mix it all up- it’s EASY, pour it into a greased cake tin/mould and voila- you are done.
Pop it into an oven at around 190 for 30minutes. Times may vary depending on how pernickety your oven is.
