When I opened their bright yellow door (or vibrant golden door), I scanned their place from left to right and that's where I saw the quote above! Alice in Wonderland is one of my favourite fantasy tales. In fact, on my seventh birthday, my grandparents chose an "Alice in Wonderland" cake from Goldilocks Bakeshop.
So when I heard that this cafe already opened, I didn't hesitate to drop by. The only problem was the parking. They do have plenty of space and a guard to guide you but they're always full. But one Sunday morning after attending an early mass, we were lucky enough to find a spot.
Mad Cafe officially opened its bright yellow door (or vibrant golden door) on February 2019. Whenever I pass by their cafe, I see that they're always full. So when I finally got the chance, I learned why.
The cafe maximized the use of their space. In fact, they have designated areas for certain dinners which I must say is very considerate and cool.
Let's start with the Al Fresco area. This reminds you of the garden tea parties Mad Hatter, Dormouse, and Hare always has.
Next is Study Hall. Remember when I said they're very considerate? Not all diners dine in. Some would dine in and do their work or study. With Mad Cafe's 12-capacity bar section which features outlets and power supply, customers are able to do their work without the hassle.
Now this one is perfect for families. If you have little kids and you want to dine out, no worries because Mad Cafe has a Kid's Play Area. There's a ball pit, slide, rock climb wall and swings.
If you want to hang out with friends or your siblings/ cousins, the Gaming Lounge is the perfect area. Just look at that golden honeycomb of hexagon cubicle! It's colourful and the perfect spot to chat. And if you want to play board games, you can do it there OR at the faux grass area.
And of course, the last spot is the most important one - the Dining Area. They have some ample space perfect for small families to huge groups Take note, you can not study, work or play in this area. Since Mad Cafe has created a designated space for your needs, please follow their rules.
What about the food?
MadCafe offers a variety of dishes from sandwiches to pasta as well as rice meals and lava stone grilled steaks. Btw, they also offer milk teas, coffee and yakult fruit teas.
To be honest, I like the simplicity of their selection. The menu is straightforward and perfect for the concept they created. Because if you look at it, this is not a regular cafe. This is an interactive space where they offer good food and a great experience suitable for students, friends and families.
So if you are the type of person who loves peace and serenity, I have to say that this is not the place for you. There may be some downtime; however, it's not the same with regular cafes. 🙂
I, on the other hand, like both types. When I'm with my younger cousins, I'll definitely choose this because it's the right place. But if I need a more quiet place, I have a different space in mind.
