Justin: So I don’t think I mentioned anything about this, but, a summary: with a job, it has severely cut back on anime watching and manga reading. It has challenged me to better manage my time. I am doing my best at that!
It also has allowed me to get on a plane for the first time in my life and go to Los Angeles for Anime Expo. It’s just the thing to do when you’re young, dumb, and have money!
So yeah, I’ll be there, interviewing, chatting, and stuffing my face with LA food throughout the con. My schedule below, as always, can be changed, but I’m looking forward to going to my first strictly anime convention since…AnimeNEXT? Anime Boston? I think that was two, three years ago? Wow it’s been a while!
So I dunno what I’ll do Thursday, aside from wake up really early and go across country, scared as hell as I’m up in the air, and then land down wondering how I made it there. But I expect to have a ton of fun, and provide some of that fun to you guys.
Oh, I should mention I’m not going alone–
Muse: I’ll be going as well! This will be my fourth year at Anime Expo and second year cosplaying at this convention. My schedule isn’t quite as packed as Justin’s, but that’s because I’ve learned that one of my favorite things to do at AX is to wander around the exhibit hall and Artist’s Alley and hang out with people, and I want to have plenty of time for that with the massive crowd that comes every year!
That said, I am ecstatic about all of the figure events that GSC is bringing to the convention this year! I’ll be attending their panel on Thursday night and will be taking as many pictures as possible of their Nendoroid 500 display. I’m also planning on grabbing a convention exclusive as well, so you can expect to see a review of that on a future installment of Subdued Figures!
Aside from that, I will be camping out for the Little Witch Academia: Enchanted Parade premiere on Friday and attending the Attack on Titan cosplay meetup on Saturday as well as doing other cosplay-related things! My current cosplay schedule is Touka Kirishima from Tokyo Ghoul (in the Anteiku uniform) on Thursday, Petral Ral from Attack on Titan on Friday, and Isabel Magnolia from Attack on Titan: No Regrets on Saturday. Come say hi and let me know if you take my picture!
