At a virtual event on Tuesday, Apple has introduced new Macs that runs on his new one M1 chip for Macswhich will greatly improve the app performance of its new operating system, MacOS Big Sur.
With MacOS Big Sur Craig Federighi, Apple's senior vice president of software engineering, said during the event that apps launch on Macs using Apple's new silicon-based M1 chip will be almost instant. With Safari, the operating system runs JavaScript one and a half times faster, and the entire system is almost twice as responsive. Apps that require high performance to render 3D animation or edit raw video will therefore run smoother.
"We have optimized all of our apps for M1," said Federighi.

The M1 chip also offers more security, including a hardware verified safe boot, high-performance automatic encryption for all your files, and macOS runtime protection. All in all, it offers "the most advanced security of any personal computer," said Federighi.
MacOS Big Sur also offers universal apps that can run on an Intel- or M1-based Mac. Adobe publishes universal versions of its appsStarting with Lightroom next month and Photoshop early next year.
For the first time ever, you can run iPhone and iPad apps right on your Mac, Federighi said.
