“I had gone on vacation to visit my aunt and cousins in Lemnos, whom I had not seen in 7 years. The day after we got there, my cousins, whose house we were staying at, told us their koumbaro who had baptized their youngest son would also be going to stay with them for a few days. This koumbaro turned out to be Themis. We went out our first night all together and started talking. He asked me for my number, and the rest is history”, the bride shared with us.

“We had gone out to eat to one of our favorite restaurants, two weeks before Christmas. When we first sat down, he gave me a beautiful Christmas card with the most amazing words written inside. We continued on talking through dinner, and Themis kept mentioning how he wanted to get some rest before his soccer game that night. We ate and has a fabulous dinner, but I noticed that Themis kept looking around to see if the server was coming. When the server came and we paid the bill, I stood up and put on my coat, and told him for us to go so he can get some rest. Little did I know, he was ready to propose, but I ruined the moment!! haha Then we walked to the car and I received a phone call. I talked and got in the car, and when I hung up and turned to Themis, he had the ring out and asked me to marry him there. It couldn’t have been a more us moment. We have yet to stop laughing about it!”

“The ceremony took place in St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Piscataway, New Jersey. I grew up in New Jersey, and in the St. George Church. It was important for my family for us to get married there.”

“I was going for elegance in my wedding, and the colors were a periwinkle blue, silver, and white. The wedding decorations were three different types of centerpieces, all white and ivory with hints of bling. There were centerpieces with low candles, jars with bling and flowers, medium centerpieces with 4 cylinders and white flowers, and high centerpieces with flowers.”
