Lush's Newcastle store has had a bit of a makeover and I went along to their relaunch night to see how things have changed!
There's a few noticeable differences in the layout of the store. The first thing I noticed was how the tills have moved to the front of the store and are located on the right. Previously, the tills were located at the back of the store. Now that’s not a huge problem, but around busy periods (like Christmas for instance) it was difficult to access the products located near the back, as the queues would be quite substantial. Moving them further up will also be great for those who pop in on a lunch break to quickly pick up a few things.
Two of the guys from the Lush Kitchen down in Poole were making the cleanser, Angels on Bare Skin and we each left with a little complimentary pot. The scent of the ingredients being mixed was incredible and to see it being made really reinforces how fresh the products are from Lush. I've also decided I'd really like to visit the Lush Kitchen and make some products! Maybe one day ey?!
Another big difference is the new location of the bath bombs. They’re now at the back on the left. It’s a lot easier to see the whole range by having them all in one area and it means you can walk around the store in the process of what you’re looking for; shower gel, hair, gifts, bath, perfume (I’ll get on to that in a moment), skincare and face masks, massage bars, soap, teeth and pay!Yes, I mentioned perfume and this is the most exciting part of the transformation. If you don’t believe me, just ask the staff! The area where the tills used to be at the back of the store is now the Gorilla Perfume area. There’s a lightbox, a collaged wall and a really nice vibe about the area. I spent around 20 minutes (if not more) chatting to one of the staff about the perfume range. He very kindly went through each one, telling me the story behind each scent and letting me get a sniff. It was a really great experience and brought up some emotions I wasn’t expecting! Scent is such a strong trigger and can really bring back memories. I’d highly recommend spending some time having a perfume consultation if you can.
I was introduced to the new body conditioner by an absolutely lovely girl who works in the store (what is it about Lush staff being so friendly and happy?! It's infectious!) I absolutely love Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner and anything with a rose scent that’s similar to Rose Jam is a total winner in my books! The new body conditioner, African Paradise was exclusively launched in Africa before making its way over here. The subtle floral scent is lovely and it’s packed with nourishing Moringa and Almond Oils and Shea Butter leaving your skin silky soft. Seven of the ingredients are from Slush Fund organisations in Africa too, so it’s not just great for your skin but you’re really helping to make a difference buying it!I’d really recommend getting along to Lush and seeing the new store layout, it’s great! It’s also worth making a note that the Christmas products will be out early October (along with the Halloween selection) which is really exciting! Just a few weeks to go....
