Lunar Vacation – ‘Shrug’

Lunar Vacation have celebrated the announcement of their signing to Keeled Scales (Buck Meek, Katy Kirby) with the release of new single ‘Shrug’ – an ode to shrugging off binary constructs. The band have already played shows with Sidney Gish and Remo Drive and this new song – and album – were produced by Grouplove’s Daniel Gleason.

Opening with breezy indie-pop hooks that wouldn’t sound out of place on an Alvvays or Real Estate record, the song is packed with self-depreciating lyrics (‘Invited but I’ll never show. Sit at home and playing too much Wilco’) before songwriters Grace and Maggie finally break away from this blank space and celebrate who they are: ‘I figured out I don’t like grey’.
