A new California bill would enable public school children to use bathrooms designated for members of the opposite sex, if a student's "gender identity" differed from the student's biological sex.
Assembly Bill 1266, introduced by Democratic Assemblyman Tom Ammiano, who represents a section of the city of San Francisco [where else?] would: "...require that a pupil be permitted to participate in sex-segregated school programs and activities, including athletic teams and competitions, and use facilities consistent with his or her gender identity, irrespective of the gender listed on the pupil's record."
