“We got married in Spring in Kefalonia Island. Ed and I were friends and work colleagues for many years until it turned into something more. It took me by surprise when it happened, but as it turns out, it was meant to be, and the rest is history. Ed proposed while on holiday in St. Lucia in January 2020. We stayed in a beautiful resort, which was very relaxed and romantic. On our return, we started planning our wedding”, Lisa shared with us.
“We wanted an intimate wedding with fabulous scenery and lovely weather, so we found Donna at Kefalonia Weddings. Donna helped us plan the most beautiful elopement wedding in Kefalonia, and we will be forever grateful for all her help, ideas, and support. We initially had a date set for June 2021 but decided to postpone it to the following year due to the issues and travel restrictions that arose from the covid pandemic. It was through Donna that we were introduced to our photographer, Vicky Bekiaridou Photography. Vicky was friendly, professional, patient and such a pleasure to work with. She put us at ease on the day and captured some fantastic photos”.
“The flowers were so beautiful and exactly what we had imagined. My bouquet was stunning in pale pink and white tones, using roses and anemones and other local and seasonal flowers. The flower garland around the chapel door had the real “wow” factor and looked amazing over the lovely blue door. The florist did an excellent job and exceeded our expectations”.
“There were so many stand-out moments on the day, but my favorite has to be the ceremony itself. Walking down to the pretty chapel to the sound of the mandolin player, seeing Ed with a big smile on his face, and then saying our vows in the most beautiful setting was a moment I’ll never forget”.
“Rosa Clara designed my wedding dress. It was the first dress I tried on, and I immediately fell in love with it. I love the intricate lace detail and long sleeves. I wanted a romantic dress without being too over the top, which is exactly what this dress was about. I had to wait a long time for it to be made in Spain, but it was worth the wait”.
“My advice would be that once you have an idea of the type of wedding you would like, hire a trusted wedding planner to help bring that vision to life. We couldn’t have arranged ours without our planner, especially with it being a destination wedding. Everything was planned so well that on the day, my only worry was falling down the hill on the way down to the chapel”.
