In this new abstract painting on paper, I confess I was trying to capture a scene from nature: the sense of a spring meadow. I had painted similar scenes a few years ago, and now returned to see if I could capture that feeling again.
I began by brushing on several shades of green highlighted with parchment and white, shaded with touches of burnt umber. Next I added small spots of color in yellow, red, crimson, light magenta, and light blue violet. In the last step I drew spots of short lines in dark green and burnt umber.
