The Flash brings changes to its cast for the upcoming season

If you haven’t watched through the Season 4 finale of The Flash, you may wish to skip this paragraph and go to the next. To recap, Season 4 left the cast with some changes that were surprising to many fans. The mystery girl, did end up being Nora, the daughter of Barry Allen and Iris West-Allen. Tom Cavanaugh’s Earth-2 persona has left, and a new Harrison Wells will be coming onboard for the next season, leaving him another chance to explore his every changing character. Hartley Sawyer brought The Elongated Man (Ralph Dibney) to life. And Joe West and Cecile Horton, who had telepathic powers during her pregnancy that helped defeat The Thinker, now have a brand-new baby girl, to add to their family which now consists of three adult children and one baby.

It is Cecile and Ralph who the writers and producers have decided that the fans need to see more of next season. This could be interesting since we have no idea as of yet as to who the season’s big bad will be.

Danielle Nicolet, the actress who plays Cecile, and Hartley Sawyer were just upped to season regulars according to Deadline. This news picks fans up a little since Keiynan Lonsdale announced a few weeks ago that he would not be returning as a regular for either The Flash or Legends of Tomorrow

Nicolet has played Cecile Horton, the Central City District Attorney, for the last several years. She was just seen a few times as a hard-hitting attorney willing to prosecute the metahumans that were brought down by The Flash and his team. The 44-year old actress’s character slowly made her way into Joe West’s heart, eventually leading to her recent relationship with West and their surprising pregnancy announcement, which allowed Nicolet to be seen more and more over Season 4. She starred in 20 episodes of the drama thus far and most of them were in this recent season.

Danielle Nicolet started her acting career back in 1991 when she guest starred on Family Matters. Most recently, other than her episodes of The Flash, she can be seen in Tyler Perry’s Acrimony, which also starred Taraji P. Henson. Nicolet, also starred with Kevin Hart and Dwayne Johnson in Central Intelligence. If you are looking for Nicolet on Netflix, she can be found in Deidra & Lancey Rob A Train

Hartley Sawyer, who plays Ralph Dibney, or The Elongated Man, also announced that he would become a season regular on The Flash. This former corrupt cop turned private eye became a hero in Season 4 and part of the Flash team. Sawyer, who made his acting debut in 2006, has been mostly in short films and television. His longest role before The Flash was on The Young and the Restless, I Am Not Infected and Glory Daze.

Keiynon Lonsdale’s decision to not return to LOT or The Flash came earlier this month. He took to Twitter to make the announcement after Deadline broke the news. In his tweet, he said he loved playing Kid Flash and that he had learned so many lessons from the character but that he was ready for new adventures.

In other news, on Supergirl, Deadline announced that Jesse Rath will also be seen more next season, as he has also been promoted to season regular for Supergirl’s upcoming Season 4. His character, Brianiac 5, is a member of the Legion of Superheroes that is from the 31st Century, where Mon-El landed after he was sent away at the end of Season 2. Rath appeared on 5 episodes in Season 3 and he had great chemistry with the cast, which led the executive producers to the decision to bring him back more regularly for Season 4.
