Longcat is just one of many internet cat celebs Grumpy cat and Lil boyUnfortunately, Longcat passed away on Sunday at the age of 18.
Longcat was best known for its "epic length, photoshop spawning, and even an entire mythology on its scale," according to Know Your Meme. Longcat reportedly stood at 65 cm from head to toe.

Longcat first appeared online as a meme around 2005 or 2006. Longcat was even included in the Urban Dictionary in 2006 and attributed the name to 4chan's random board / b /. While Longcat's real name is Shiroi (which means white), Japanese fans gave the cat the original nickname Nobiiru or Nobiko, which means "stretch".
It didn't take long for the normally stretchy cat to be incorporated into business charts, historical scenes, space, and other unlikely locations.
Longcat even had a nemesis - an evil black cat named Tacgnol, and they had apparently fought for control of the universe for years.
The citizens of 4chan even gave the cats their own mythology, including an epic fight between Longcat and Tacgnol that will end in an apocalyptic era known as Catnarok.
After learning of Longcat's death, fans paid their respects to the stretchy kitten online.
