London Walk of the Week: #Shakespeare In London

By Lwblog @londonwalks

London Walk of the Week: #Shakespeare In London Every Sunday we’ll pluck just one walk from the vast London Walks repertoire and put it center stage.
You can check out the full schedule at www.walks.com
But if you only take one walking tour this week, why not make it…
SHAKESPEARE IN LONDON
Saturday 23rd April 10:45a.m meet at London Bridge Tube, Duke Street Hill exit
Sunday 24th April 2:30p.m meet at London Bridge Tube, Duke Street Hill exit
Both tours are conducted by Lance Pearson
2016 is 400 years since William Shakespeare passed away. It would surely stagger The Bard if he could have known how long his work would endure.
While Stratford-upon-Avon claims him as her own, all of his famous working life was spent in London. You can experience that city by following Lance Pierson on his Shakespeare in London walk.
See the places where Shakespeare lived, wrote and acted. At each stop Lance will read an extract from his work to further transport you. See the original site of the Globe Theatre and its sister the Blackfriars Theatre, two houses where he lived and the very spot where we believe Othello, King Lear and Macbeth were written.
Shakespeare In London
Saturday 23rd April, 10.45am - the anniversary day!
Sunday 24th April, 2.30pm
Both tours meet at London Bridge Station (Duke Street Hill exit)
A London Walk costs £10 – £8 concession. To join a London Walk, simply meet your guide at the designated tube station at the appointed time. Details of all London Walks can be found at www.walks.com.
