Daily Constitutional Editor Adam writes…
Every year on The Daily Constitutional, as the high season for visitors to London hots up, I spend August sharing a few archive posts. This year I'm reposting recommendations from our If You Do One Other Thing In London slot (a regular feature of our Saturday London Spy posts) and updated posts from the Best Museums In London series, in which the London Walks guides shared their best London museum tips.

If theres' a London Walks tour starting or ending nearby I'll add the details at the bottom of each post. I hope you find them helpful over the course of the summer.

Keep in touch - I'm not going into hiding! - I'll be posting regularly throughout August and, of course, I'll see many of you "out there" on London Walks tours. All of our regular features – and some new ones, too – will return in September.

There's more London biking than just the Sadiq Cycles (formerly Boris Bikes)…

Hire a bike from London Recumbents in Dulwich Park or Battersea Park.
Lie back and enjoy the view on a recumbent bike or trike – a contraption in which the rider sits in a laid-back position rather than the traditional upright fashion. The view isn't too shabby either, riding around the designated cycle paths in two of London's loveliest parks. They do traditional machines, too.
Here's what London Recumbents have to say for themselves:
When London Recumbents started back in 1993 the Mountain Bike boom was still in full swing, the term 'fixie' hadnt been invented, and bikes for the disabled generally meant a heavy unstable upright trike.
We wanted to do things differently - to offer bikes you wouldn't see in the local bike shops and to give an experience above and beyond the confines of the high street. Within four years we were based in parkland, offering green spaced traffic-calmed test-rides and bike hires to all. A truly inclusive service for anyone young and old, the physically and mentally fit and for those with greater challenges.

Dulwich Park…
Battersea Park

From time-to-time the Old Dulwich Village walk features in the rep programme. Meanwhile over in Battersea Rex can be found leading his A Butcher's Hook At Battersea tour. Keep an eye on walks.com for announcements on the next outing for those walks.
A London Walk costs £10 – £8 concession. To join a London Walk, simply meet your guide at the designated tube station at the appointed time.
Accompanied children under 15 go FREE.
Details of all London Walks can be found at www.walks.com.
