The Jam – About the Young Idea
The Jam are back together… after a fashion. A new exhibition at Somerset House brings together the personal archives of all three members of the punk/mod legends in the first major exhibition dedicated to their work.
Through unseen material and fan memorabilia, the exhibition charts the trio’s journey from Sheerwater Secondary Modern in Woking to superstardom with 18 consecutive UK top 40 singles and over 14 million global album sales.
The collection, which is curated by frontman Paul Weller’s sister and former head of The Jam’s fan club Nicky Weller, Tory Turk and Russell Reader with additional advice from DJ Gary Crowley, includes hand written lyrics, original stage outfits, personal photographs and footage, unreleased music videos, early scrapbooks, letters and postcards, posters and fanzines, and the band’s instruments.

Lazy Britain:
"One in seven adults go a whole month without taking a walk of at least 10 minutes, official statistics reveal."
And we dare not argue with official statistics. Especially not those published in the Daily Mail. Read the full story here: www.dailymail.co.uk
More bad news: Skinny jeans can kill you. Sort of…
"Squatting in skinny jeans for a long period of time has been linked to damage of the muscles and nerve fibres in the legs, health experts have warned.
Doctors have described the case of a 35-year-old woman who collapsed and spent several hours lying on the ground outside, unable to move, before spending four days in hospital."
So be warned: if you turn up to a London Walk wearing a pair of skinny jeans, we will demand that you remove them before the walk commences. It's in the interests of health and safety, dontcha know.

London Spy 27:06:15 Our Weekly #London Review The Last Word
Some more health and safety in the world of walking. Should you end up on one of the "free" walking tours in London – the tours where your guide takes up all your time by shouting "This is a free tour SO GIVE ME YOUR MONEY!" – and should you get hideously lost in a field somewhere on said "free" tour, here's some advice from ITV on how to walk among cattle:
What you shouldn't do:
• Don’t hang onto your dog if you are threatened by cattle - let it go as the cattle will chase the dog and not you. • Don’t put yourself at risk by walking close to cattle. • Don’t panic or run – most cattle will stop before they reach you. If they follow just walk on quietly.
