Marvel legend Stan Lee spoke to Jewish News about his career and his new London-set thriller Lucky Man…
Lee explains that he set his new drama in London partly as a nod to his British-born wife, Joan, to whom he has been married for nearly 70 years, but also because he believes the city provides “the perfect backdrop”. He adds: “London has everything you could want in a city that has to smack of realism and yet have an air of fantasy about it.
“I’ve loved the city of London from its descriptions in the novels of Arthur Conan Doyle and having visited London myself I’ve loved the vibrancy of Soho,” he goes on.
“I am absolutely thrilled that this is where the show is being filmed and is set.”

TfL to take over suburban routes…
Plans for Transport for London and the capital’s mayor to take over operational control of the city’s suburban commuter services from rail companies have received government backing.
A more frequent, metro-style service would run across suburban London under proposals published on Thursday, which would see TfL take over parts of the rail network currently run by operators such as Southern and Southeastern when franchises are renewed.
The proposals would see TfL taking control of inner suburban rail services from London Bridge, Cannon Street, Charing Cross, Moorgate, Victoria, and Waterloo stations, which TfL has said would improve journeys in and beyond the capital.

London Spy 22:01:16 Our Weekly #London Review #LondonSpyIf You Do One OTHER Thing In London…
Our weekly slot in which we point you in the direction of other happenings and events in our great city. A new exhibition, a gig, a museum, a pop-up-shop – the best of London within a few minutes of aLondon Walkswalking tour.
Another simple one this week: walk.
As I blog this, we await confirmation from the RMT trade union on the strike action proposed on the London Underground on 26/27 January – that's Tuesday and Wednesday this week ahead.
But even if the action is called off, this map can still come in handy as counting toward your 10,000 steps health regime – it's published by TfL and notes the average walking times between tube stations in zone 1 and zone 2.

Things Not Do With A Shoe No.1 In A Limitless Series…
An angry wife battered a woman with her own shoes after spotting her coming out of her bathroom in just her underwear, a court heard.
Kay Sealy whacked Charlotte Akomfrah, 27 - a work colleague of her husband - after she came home with him following a night out.
Ms Akomfrah claimed she was assaulted and pelted with her own shoes, leaving her head “pumping blood”, the Irish Mirror reports.
The court heard the bust-up happened after Sealy’s husband, a colleague of Ms Akomfrah, invited her home after work drinks, allegedly telling her he was in an “open relationship”.
