The Cartoon Museum is only a short walk away from the British Museum and as well as being a wonderful exhibition space, it runs events and workshops for artists of all ages and abilities. They also have a Young Cartoonist Competition every year. Their website is HERE.
Orbital Comics is a small but beautifully stocked comic book store on Great Newport Street WC2. Their online presence may lack a vast online shop (and we approve – we'd miss the friendly staff) but they do have a great Podcast. The equally lovely Gosh! over in Berwick Street, Soho keep London comic books fans up-to-speed with their movements via a lively blog. It was here that we picked up the news of the publication of Suffragette…
"Talking of events, we’ll also be having one to celebrate the publication of Sally Heathcote: Suffragette by Mary Talbot, Kate Charlesworth and Bryan Talbot. It’s a signing on Saturday the 17th of May between 2 and 3 pm but the book is out this week.
The book itself is an account of the struggle to secure the vote for women that blends biography, reportage and social history."
