Our weekly slot in which we point you in the direction of other happenings and events in our great city. A new exhibition, a gig, a museum, a pop-up-shop – the best of London within a few minutes of aLondon Walkswalking tour.
The Design Museum is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the British road signage system with a free installation of signs and illustrations.
The
installation brings together leading designers and artists to create their own
reinterpretations of the circle, triangle and square signs. More than thirty of
these new signs are on display in the Design Museum’s Tank and Riverside Hall,
including work by Sir Peter Blake, Sir Terence Conran, Sir Kenneth Grange,
Betty Jackson and Julian Opie.

Spare a thought for Eliud Kipchoge, whose shoes fell apart while running a marathon…
The 30-year-old elite Kenyan runner won the race (Berlin Marathon) at a 2:04:00 personal best, defying footwear problems, according to the Berlin Marathon’s official website. The insoles were falling out of his shoes by around the 10-mile mark, though Kipchoge was reportedly aware of the issue early in the race.
