London Fashion Week AW13: Day 3

After chomping on my dinner and watching Paddy Mcguinness on Take Me Out, I was one lady extremely ready for the land of nod.  My day at London Fashion Week had been somewhat frantic and instead of leisurely strolling to venues, I somehow always managed to be running somewhere, so at the end of day 2 I was needing some serious sleep!

I got up early munched on a small piece of toast, gathered my things and off I went again.  Catching the bus to the station followed by train ride to Embankment, unfortunately Temple station was closed so I always had a morning fresh walk to wake me up... if I wasn't already.

Sunday was going to be a more relaxed day, as I only had a couple of shows to attend, so I decided to grab a Lavazza coffee then head around the exhibition.

I decided for my day 3 outfit I’d add some of my printed favourites into the ensemble mixing bowl, yes polka dots. Instead of opting for autumnal/wintery colours I went down this seasons trend of neon, however I stuck to one color in the form of coral.

It was a stunning morning with a crisp chill in the air, but the sun was shining and those who were at Somerset House drank their warm mugs of goodness and headed to the shows. 
I kicked off my morning by visiting the LFW exhibition area, I do enjoy this each year to see what some of the designers have created. I was greeted by the Amex team who were all looking gorgeous in their Jonathan Saunders designed uniforms. 
 I recall the last time I attended fashion week, arriving a fluster panicking that I couldn't find where I needed to be, and this team of Amex Insiders calmed me down and guided me to where I was hunting for.  They can help you get transport booked, find places to go for lunch, print documents that you need... as they say no job to big or too small.  If you ever do go to London Fashion Week and you don't know where you need to go, find one of the Amex team!
When I first trotted through into where the designers had their displays I immediately came into contact with a number of stunning head pieces.  If you were looking for something to really set heads turning, these were the items to do it with.
The next range I came into contact with was French Sole.  I can't get enough of these fabulous flats, in a range of styles and fabrics I could just imagine how comfortable yet stylish my feet would be!  I especially loved the loafers which would be ideal with skinny cigarette trousers, vest tops and big cardigans. 

I had seen Emma J Shipleycollections before at other LFW and was pleased to see her vibrant designs looking so chic.  If you like scarves, (like I love scarves) you really must browse her items.
I fell in love with the jacket above from Beautiful Soul London and then was greeted by a collection of designs that were extreme British.  Embracing florals and a number of styles with beautiful fabrics that are all made in Britain.  I even had the chance to chat to the designer Nicola Woods, who was an absolute delight to speak to.  I'll no doubt be doing a follow up piece about her collection.
After visitng the exhibition for a morning browse, I was set for the digital presentation of the AW13 collection for Cristina Sabaiduc, a designer known for, effortlessly elegant lines, silk prints and innovative techniques. 
As I went into the room I was greeted by lots of smiles, drinks and nibbles, but the most engaging focal point for me was a lady in Cristina Sabaiduc clothing, painting on a canvas in the middle of the room.  Ladies in flawless fabrics floated about the room serving drinks whilst screens showed a short video to emphasis the inspiration. It was very artistic and enhanced the creative flare behind the prints on display.

After enjoying a beautiful lazy Sunday morning, I knew I needed to get a shuffle on to get to The Fashion Scout catwalk to see the Mercedes-Benz Kiev Fashion Days.  A show featuring
Anna Kolomoets, Paskal, Yasya Minochkina, and Anna October - an opportunity for these international designers to showcase their collections.  I think it's always good to look at fashion from an international perspective, it can be really inspiring and can also trigger ideas for looks you want to try.


I did really appreciate seeing these designers display their collections.  That is the wonderful way of London Fashion Week - there is such a combination of designers that you can find something new, something different and certainly something for every taste.
After the show I spent time seeing fellow fashion friends and taking in the street style before departing for the day.  It was a Sunday of discovering tastes out of my comfort zone and designers I wouldn't necessarily come into contact anywhere else....and it was superb in every way.
