From the 7th to 9th January the British Fashion Council kick start the yearby embracing menswear. Over the three days they showcase some of the
top designers during their event, London Collections: Men, there are a
variety of presentations throughout the days but one of them that I wanted to
tell you about was from iconic label Nicole Farhi.
Celebrating its 30th anniversary in the fashion industry, Nicole Farhi celebrates
the occasion by indulging in a menswear collection that is oozing with
style. Creative Director, Joanna Sykes
presented a debut collection of adaptable and effortless items which could
be worn by any man regardless of age. Once I'd viewed the collection the main focus for me was how crisp the mens tailoring, shirts and outwear was.
"Craftsmanship is a key focus and manufacture of hero
product has moved back to Italy, with men’s tailoring, shirts and outerwear
exclusively Italian."
I simply fell in love with how divine the mens outerwear was, it was so distinctive but at the same time iconic and classic.
The two images above are some of my favourites from the collection, mainly because they may look different but work in very similar ways. The rich mahogany tones and leather jacket in the first image give off a relaxed vibe, and even though in the second image the overcoat in winter white is quite a sophisticated and classic look, it still manages to remain a relaxed ensemble. I'd personally love to dress my other half in either of these!
I personally don't tend to enjoy seeing shirts with stripes but I found that I could really appreciate this particular one, mainly because I adore the concept of how it has been styled alongside the deep warm tones. Nicole Farhi hasaimed their shirt collection to beadventurous and individual and I believe they have achieved that by creating a collection which is unique but extremely easy to wear. The various shirts are a combination of some printed; hand painted prints, traditional stripesand herringbone patterns, but then also classically designed shirts which are created with such excellence.
Knitwear is one of my most loved creations and with the Nicole Farhi's Mens AW13 collection, I cannot fault of how exquisite the innovative pieces look. Even though the cuts of the knitwear remains quite simple, the texture and prints are very individual and that is what I love most about the whole range!
"Knits are a mass of
rich textures; giant intarsia tweed, waffle, rib, chunky cables and graphic
patchwork."
Theentire Menswear collection is true to the heritage of the NicoleFarhi's previous collections, but equally so it's being innovative, keepingclassic and of course being full of charm.
