Another HDR image from the 2013 Planes of Fame airshow.  This could pass for a wartime advertisement if not for the truck and PC-12 turboprop in the background.  “23 Skidoo” is the Lightning owned by the Planes of Fame Museum and operates right here at Chino.  This aircraft never saw any combat before being surplused and changing hands until being restored to flying condition in 1988.  The P-38 wears the markings of “23 Skidoo”, flown by Captain Perry J. “Pee Wee” Dahl of the 432th Fighter Squadron, 475th Fighter Group.
