This veteran Orion stands guard wearing the colors of Patrol Squadron VP-91 ‘Black Cats’ that operated out of Moffett Field from 1970 to their deactivation in 1999.  Produced from 1961-1990, the Orion has a sea level dash speed of 473 mph, putting it on par with most WWII fighters.  The P-3 can operate on two engines to extend mission duration, the record is 21.5 hours.  Nikon D300 w/18-200mm, processed with Photomatix Pro and Aperture.
