Afterburners blazing, a Raptor from the Air Combat Command F-22 Demonstration Team performs a high speed pass during the Los Angeles County Airshow.  Both 35,000 lb thrust engines incorporate 2D thrust vectoring nozzles with a range of ±20 degrees in the pitch axis.  The F-22’s thrust-to-weight ratio in typical combat configuration is close to 1.0 in maximum military power and 1.25 in full afterburner.  First flown in 1997, they entered service in 2005 with a total production run of 195 aircraft.
