The 154th Wing, stationed at the former Hickam AFB, is a composite unit combining airlift, refueling and air defense. The Hawaii Air National Guard has been operating F-22’s here since 2010. This may have been the first time that I’ve seen the arresting hook lowered. I was able to attend this year’s Wings Over the Pacific airshow and see the various aircraft types in person.
