I attended the Los Angeles County Airshow for the first time in 2017, plus it was the first outing with this new lens at the time.  With speed brakes open, Thunderbird #4 executes a smooth post-performance landing.  The team transitioned to the F-16A Fighting Falcon in 1983, and upgraded to the F-16C/D in 1992.  The two-seater aircraft is used as a spare, plus it is used for media/VIP flights as well as new team pilot familiarization.  The F-16 has been their aerial demonstration aircraft for the Thunderbirds for over 30 years and is their ninth aircraft type since the team was formed in 1953.  Nikon D500 w/ Tamron 150-600mm.
