The Museum of Flight has this sole surviving M-21 variant of the A-12 reconnaissance aircraft on display.  Designed by the famous Kelly Johnson, the A-12 was built for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) by Lockheed’s Skunk Works. The A-12 was produced from 1962 to 1964, and operated from 1963 to 1968. Two M-21’s were modified to be a mother ship for launching the D-21 drone, one M-21 was lost in 1966 due to a drone launch mishap.  Nikon D300 w/18-200mm.
