A very interesting history of this JetStar.  On 22nd April 1961, aviatrix Jackie Cochran piloted this JetStar from New Orleans to Bonn and set 18 world records along the way and became the first woman to fly a jet aircraft across the Atlantic Ocean.  Afterwards, it became a research aircraft with NASA, flying as a Space Shuttle simulator for Dryden landings.  The wings were later modified to study laminar flow improvement technology. The pylon on top of the fuselage was for flight testing advanced turboprop propulsion concepts, a project that would win the 1987 Collier Trophy.   Added to the Joe Davies Heritage Airpark collection in 2003.  Nikon D500 w/18-200mm.
