Who could've imagined that to celebrate 10 years of being a wedding and family videographer I'd essentially be out of work and creating my own personal vlogs and family films to keep busy during a pandemic lockdown...?
Who could've also predicted as someone who used to hate school I'd be in charge of my 5 year olds learning and attempting our version of homeschool...?
Life has suddenly become very different for some of us. Especially our little ones who find themselves home with parents trying to juggle life! Who knew Zoom 'Show and Tells' with school friends would also be a thing...?
We may've found the first few weeks challenging trying to find our new 'normal'. Lee working from home full time and me trying to keep up with the admin side of a wedding videography business can be full on juggling at times. But now things are definitely in a better 'balance' and I'm even finding time to capture a bit of our own family life in photos...
As well as create my own personal family films too.
Personal Family Videography and Photography - Lockdown Life
As a family photographer and videographer I find it WAY easier documenting other families lives as you can sit back and watch for the moments and connections. It's a lot different watching it as a parent and still trying to parent whilst trying to be a film-maker too.
However now I have the time to be patient and wait for the moments. There's not that rushed feeling to try and capture our life as well as other families. I leave my camera out and nearby, just in case. It's much less pressure!
So here on this personal family blog you'll find my first creative attempt at a vlog sharing our Lockdown life in Burscough, Lancashire.
My first video was more of a video memory to reflect over the challenges and struggles I faced as a Mum trying to quickly adapt to the pandemic and the life changes.

Fear and Gratitude - Lockdown Family Vlog
My second family video is more about a video diary of the following weeks as we settled in to our new 'normal'.
What I really love about this is capturing the strangeness of walking down empty roads (we live on the A59 in Lancashire that connects the North West and is usually constant with traffic), the corona virus signs in shops but also how loud the birds singing is! Everything seems so peaceful...
It also goes to show how much Paisley is loving lockdown life right now. She loves having our attention and having us around. She's a real home bird and this new normal suits her down to the ground!

Me, well I'd love to be back filming weddings and families again around Lancashire and the North West please but maybe a little time to enjoy this slower pace of life too...
