All witnesses who will participate in this morning's Senate committee hearing on the new coronavirus, including Dr. Anthony Fauci, will testify remotely, following potential exposure to the virus last week.
Senator Lamar Alexander of Tennessee will also chair the remote hearing after announcing Sunday that he is self-quarantining for 14 days following the presence of a member of his office staff who is found to be positive for the virus.
What we know about the White House Covid-19 cases: Recently, President Trump's personal valet, vice-president spokesperson, Katie Miller, and Ivanka Trump's personal assistant (who has worked remotely for almost two months) have all tested positive for Covid-19 also.
Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases, and Dr. Brett Giroir, assistant secretary for health at the Department of Health and Social Services, originally planned to appear in person before the Republican Senate committee on the health.
Fauci said on Sunday that he is engaging in what he calls "modified quarantine" and that he will work from home.
