Little Treats: Williamson Tea

Williamson Tea Elephant Caddy - The Perfect Ethical Xmas Gift

This past month has been a bit of a whirlwind here – lots of late nights in the office followed by weekends away with blogger events and meet-ups in between. November has gone so fast that it’s hard to believe that December is on our doorstep.

I don’t know if it’s something to do with getting older, but I’ve never known a year fly by so quickly. Would you agree?

In between this hustle and bustle of November though, I’ve found it more important than ever to make the most of any downtime I have had; cat cuddles, cosy jumpers and tea have been the order of the day. My newest tea discovery has been Williamson Tea’s Kenyan Earth loose leaf tea bags. Dark, earthy and full in flavour, it’s been my warming companion on many a cold day this month.

Dare I say it though, there’s one thing Williamson Tea do even better than their teas – their elephant tea caddies!

These gorgeous caddies are basically the perfect gift for anyone who loves tea and everyone I’ve shown this one to now has someone in mind that they want to buy one for. I’ve actually already purchased another myself as a Christmas gift for someone – someone who doesn’t read my blog that is! – and I bought one for my sister as a for-no-reason gift a few months ago. Williamson Teas kindly sent me a gift set of the teas, a lovely enamel mug (with blue on it – perfect to fit in with my kitchen!) and printed cloth bag (more blue and white!) so now I get to have one of my own!

Wait, there might be one thing that Williamson Tea do even better than their tea caddies – their ethics.

All of their teas are sustainably grown in line with their ‘Bush to Cup Transparency’ policy. Williamson Tea publish regular farm reports and are dedicated to supporting the communities, wildlife and environment of Kenya, where their teas are grown.

The Williamson Tea Foundation donates £1 from every elephant tea caddy to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, the most successful orphan-elephant rescue and rehabilitation program in the world. They are one of the pioneering conservation organisations in East Africa, helping to protect elephants and rhinos against the threat of poaching for their ivory and horn, combined with the loss of habitat due to human population pressures, conflict, deforestation and drought.

Sustainably produced Williamson Teas

The elephant tea caddies come in a whole host of beautiful designs, with different varieties of tea in them. You can view the full range over on the Williamson Tea website.
